2014 NEC Code
Changes Overview for Limited Electricians This class is for folks who do
repair and replace or Limited Energy Installations or for professionals
who just want the highlights of the 2008 NEC changes. There are many more
changes than can be covered in this time. An outline of major changes will
accompany class handouts, so further study can be accomplished independently.

Changes with OR Amendments The 2014 NEC with the Oregon
amendments has remarkable changes to the way we install electricity. Come
learn about the changes, see the new format, and learn before it cost you
money in redos or fines! The State of Oregon has released a list of changes
that will be covered.
32 Hour Limited
Energy-B State Required Course
This course will teach the students
how to effectively use and understand the NEC as it pertains to their work
and test preparation. It will also give them a connection to the electrical
formulas for amps, volts, impedance, power, voltage drop, and fault current.
Chapter three wiring methods will be explained and demonstrated, using
trade texts to s how the connection between installation practices and
performance of high-speed data circuits. These students are experienced
in one or more fields, with limited exposure to other fields that they
will now be licensed to do. Therefore, an introduction to each area will
include the skills needed, the hazards involved, and likely trouble spots.
Student will be encouraged to continue learning and to investigate past
practices for suitability. Legal responsibilities for permits, and continuing
education will also be taught and discussed.
Electrical Test
Prep (LME, LEA/B, J)
This class is review of theory,
formulas, math rules, test taking strategies and how to find code sections
quickly. Practice tests will be given and graded.
Oregon Rule and
Law HB2181 made major changes to
electrical laws/rules that will impact the industry for years to come.
Come find out the changes that have happened, and will continue. New CEU
requirements for electricians. LME, LEB, LEA need only 8 hours of
Code Classes in 3 years, with LME/LEB needing 2 hours minimum code change,
and LEA all 8 must be code change. PJ and LR need 16 hours
of Continuing Education, PJ -8 hours LR - 4 hours which must be Code
Change. General journey and supervisors requirements didn’t change, still
24 hours in 3 years, however Supervisors must have 12 hours Code Change,
while journey level must have 8 hours Code Change. Remember you can have
more than your minimum code change hours, in fact all the hours can be
code change if desired.
